Delightful Creations: Celebrating the Success of Our Jelly Cat-Inspired Cupcake Workshop and Afternoon Tea

Our recent Jelly Cat-inspired cupcake decorating workshop and afternoon tea was a wonderful celebration of creativity, fun, and sweet treats. Hosted by Little Blinders Cupcake Club and Mirabella’s Play Café, this event brought together young bakers eager to learn new skills and enjoy a delightful afternoon. The combination of hands-on cupcake decorating and a tasty afternoon tea made it a memorable experience for children and their families.

A Sweet Gathering for Little Bakers

The workshop was designed especially for children aged 5 to 10, though younger kids were welcome with adult help. It offered a unique chance for kids to explore their creativity by decorating cupcakes inspired by the adorable Jelly Cat style. Each child received four cupcakes to decorate and take home, making the experience both fun and rewarding.

The event took place in the bright and welcoming space of Mirabella’s Play Café, located in Solihull. This setting provided a relaxed atmosphere where children could focus on their decorating while parents enjoyed the café’s amenities. The soft play area was also available for younger siblings, adding to the family-friendly vibe.

Learning Through Fun: The Workshop Experience

Guided by the expert team from Cakey Blinders, the children learned how to decorate cupcakes using buttercream and fondant. The step-by-step instructions made it easy for even beginners to follow along and create beautiful designs. One of the highlights was seeing just how proud our Little Blinders were of their creations!

More Than Just Cupcakes: The Afternoon Tea

Alongside the decorating fun, the event included a delicious afternoon tea. The combination of creative activity and food made the event feel like a mini celebration.

The afternoon tea featured a variety of sweet and savoury items, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. This thoughtful addition helped create a warm and inviting atmosphere, encouraging socializing and sharing among attendees.

Why This Workshop Stood Out

Several factors made this workshop a success. First, the Jelly Cat theme was a perfect choice. The cute and cuddly designs inspired children to be imaginative and have fun with their creations. It also connected well with the age group, many of whom are fans of Jelly Cat toys.

Second, the hands-on approach helped children learn by doing. Instead of just watching, they actively decorated their cupcakes, which made the experience more engaging and memorable. The guidance from Cakey Blinders ensured that everyone felt supported and encouraged.

Finally, the setting at Mirabella’s Play Café added to the event’s charm. The café’s friendly environment and facilities made it easy for families to enjoy the day together. The availability of soft play for younger children was an added bonus for parents.

What Families Took Away from the Event

Parents and children left the workshop with more than just decorated cupcakes. Many shared how the event boosted their children’s confidence and interest in baking. The skills learned, such as buttercream piping and fondant shaping, gave kids a sense of achievement.

The social aspect was also important. Children made new friends while working side by side, and parents appreciated the chance to connect with others in a relaxed setting. The event created happy memories that families will cherish.
